Belmont Court extra care
Belmont Court, Glen Road, Poole, BH14 0HF
Tel: 01202 123983
Belmont Court is in Parkstone off the Sea View end of Ashley Road and is accessed via Highland Road and Glen Road.
This scheme is different from the other 28 schemes in that it provides more support for residents and has extra facilities. There are 35 one-bedroom flats within the main building and a separate two-bedroom bungalow. All properties have Tunstall equipment installed which enables residents to call staff members in an emergency.
There has been a £150,000 project to refurbish the property and bring the building up to our new enhanced ‘extra care’ standard. The lounge and dining room have been updated and both have new furniture, a brand new lift has been installed, there is a new office and the building has been completely redecorated in a dementia friendly way.
As part of the project to refurbish the property a sensory garden has been designed to improve the outside space and provide stimulating experiences for residents, some of whom suffer from poor mobility, limited sight and other long-term conditions.
The outside space is divided into four distinct sensory zones, each with its own theme and features. In addition to the south garden, which also includes a BBQ area for residents’ summer parties, a ‘wildlife walk’ zone will be created with elevated views of Poole Harbour, and a courtyard which, with its evergreen pines, rosemary and euphorbias, will evoke smells reminiscent of summer holidays.
