At PHP we have a group of residents who review our services and how we deliver them. This is known as Resident Led Scrutiny.
In our recent review, residents were looking at how we manage our properties for re-let (void). This is an important area of work that involves the processes we undertake from the point that we know that a property will become empty through to re-letting to the new tenant. It’s important to ensure a balance between letting properties quickly whilst ensuring they are to a good standard.
The review concentrated on the voids policy and procedure with specific emphasis on lettable standards, cost and turnaround time.
The 6 residents who undertook the review made 17 recommendations which were responded to by staff. These were positively received by PHPs Board of Directors at their January meeting.
Mike Harrison, PHPs Director of Technical Services, said ‘the review has provided a great outcome, and has given the team the opportunity to improve the service. A very worthwhile review’.
Would you like to get involved with our next review? The subject is ‘communication with residents’.
