Turlin Moor residents were given the opportunity to bin all their unwanted goods when PHP supplied a free community ‘clean up’ service.
Litter pickers were on hand and a giant skip was delivered to help tidy up the area surrounding Goathorn Close, Turlin Road and Junction Road.
Within just one hour, the seven-tonne skip was almost full, and by the end of the day, our three Turlin Angels (Estates Officer Claire, Housing Officer Marie and Leasehold Services Officer Karen and ) had collected six bags of litter. Our colleagues from Roots gardening service also helped six households improve the appearance of their gardens.
Additionally, six second-hand bicycles were donated to The Bike Project – a community of mechanics and volunteers who learn basic bike maintenance skills – for refurbishment and reuse.
Thank you to all the residents who got involved, especially those who showed real community spirit by transporting waste for their neighbours.
