The Forum have been undertaking a 6 week consultation on their ambitious plan for the area and this is the final event. The program has been funded by The Big Lottery and The Borough of Poole. Come down and look at the display and talk to the people who have written the policies.

Martha Covell from ECA Community Interest Company, who have devised and managed the consultation program says ‘We have had some really positive feedback over the past four weeks and it is inspiring to meet so many people who passionately believe that the area deserves upgrading. People particularly want to see better quality streets and spaces’. However we still need feedback from more people and are hoping to get over 100 people through the door on Saturday.

The event on Saturday will focus on how Hamworthy Centre can be improved and also how Poole Quays Forum can work with the Borough of Poole to improve our open spaces, in particular Hamworthy recreation ground and waterside and other parks in the area. Ann Smeaton, a member of Poole Quays Forum steering group and Hamside Residents Association said ‘We had an excellent workshop last week with community representatives from Hamworthy who want to see more shops, community facilities and a medical centre, brought forward by a clear master plan for the area. Martha and I are in the process of applying for a Government grant which will enable us to take forward some of the communities ambitions for the area’.
