PHP has signed up to the Safe Place Scheme, an initiative run by Poole Forum, to help local people with learning disabilities.
We will join shops, businesses and other organisations by displaying signage to indicate that Beech House is a safe haven for residents who need support when they are out and about in town.
Members of staff will be able to provide help if someone feels unwell or has been involved in an accident, if someone has lost something or had something stolen, or feels anxious about locating services such as public transport.
We will be on hand to make telephone calls, give directions or simply keep the person calm and safe while they wait for a friend or family member to arrive.
Poole Forum is a local charity with nearly 550 members, and is run for and by people with learning disabilities. The Keep Safe Scheme is supported by Borough of Poole and Bournemouth Borough Council.
Borough of Poole has provided a list of all the Safe Places located in the town. You can read more about the scheme on the Poole Forum website.
