The Borough of Poole's Planning Committee has unanimously approved PHP's application to build a block of 54 extra care apartments with communal facilities at Trinidad House in Rossmore.
Trinidad Village will provide much needed extra care housing in Poole, while also becoming a focal point for the Rossmore community. The new building will feature an attractive entrance to welcome visitors to the site and will be easily accessible for all.
Cllr Philip Eades, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Borough of Poole, said: "Members of the Planning Committee unanimously approved this application to provide much needed extra care housing in Poole. There is a growing need for this type of accommodation in Poole and we were happy to support this joint project between Borough of Poole and Poole Housing Partnership."
The plans include a central courtyard containing seating areas, landscaped gardens and terraces which will provide a relaxing environment for residents to enjoy. Residents will also benefit from brand new, state-of-the-art facilities, including bistro, hairdresser, and health and therapy facilities.
Now that planning permission has been received, the next process will be to go out to tender. Once the tender process has been completed it is hoped that building work will start on site in September 2014.
