Respect Fest 08

On Sunday 27th July, Respect Fest took place at Poole Stadium. It was a FREE family fun day, with exciting activities to do.

100 people poured through the gates in the first ten minutes, eager to begin the fun!

Over the five hours the gates were open (11:00am- 4:00pm) around 640 people came along to enjoy our free family fun day.

Head of Housing Management, Carmelina Brown says, "It was a fantastic day! The weather was gorgeous and we had a great turnout.

"Respect Fest is about promoting community cohesion, and encouraging positive social behaviour in a proactive way.

"We celebrated local talent and encouraged residents to get involved by taking part in games, activities and competitions, both on and off the stage. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, everything was free."

More than 40 businesses, voluntary groups and statutory agencies came along.

Free activities and displays included arts and crafts, gymnasts, fire-eaters, gardening, circus skills and music skills and much, much more.

Feedback so far tells us that the day was a huge success and enjoyed by everyone who came along. Watch this space for news on Respect Fest '09...!
