Becoming involved in your community

There are lots of opportunities!

Improving your neighbourhood, meeting new friends and learning and sharing skills are all reasons to get involved with your community and we work with our residents to offer a wide range of opportunities.

If you are 55 or over there are over 100 regular activities being run from our sheltered housing schemes. You could join in with an art group, have a go at indoor kurling or come to a lunch and enjoy socialising with new friends. All Poole residents are welcome and if you would like more details on the locations and wide range of activities taking place, please click here for a full programme of events.

Through PHP’s work with Fareshare, over 200 breakfasts, lunches and dinners are provided each week from our sheltered housing schemes across Poole. Through this project high quality, low cost meals are provided and food waste is reduced. Again all Poole residents are welcome so for more details on where you can get a fresh and tasty low cost meal please contact Claire Wade - Community Engagement Coordinator (Older People) on 01202 264310.

PHP’s Community Gardens in Poole Town, Turlin  Moor and Alderney West offer weekly sessions open to the whole community, which are particularly popular with families. It’s not just about growing food – there are also arts and crafts, wildflower  and nature events and other fun sessions, or the opportunity to get involved in running events or activities yourself.

To find out more please contact Clare Sutton, Community Engagement Co-ordinator, on 0800 6523 900.
