Disabled adaptations

What are adaptations?

An adaptation is a modification to your home that enables you to be more independent.  This could include the following:

Minor adaptations

  • Grab rails

  • Lever taps

  • Fixing shower seats

  • Banister hand rails

  • Conveniently located electrical sockets

  • Re-hanging of doors

Major adaptations

    • Level access shower 

    • Stair-lift, or lift

    • Kitchen alterations

    • Ramps

    • Door widening

    • Door entry systems

Adult Social Services or the Child Health and Disability Team might also be able to install certain equipment (such as a bath lift) to help you undertake basic living tasks, contact details below:
