How to apply for a council owned garage.
To apply for a council owned garage, you need to fill in an 'Application for Tenancy of Garage' form which can be obtained from Beech House.
Once the application has been received, you will then be added to the waiting list for the area you are looking for a garage in. The length of the waiting list's vary from area to area with Poole Town being the most popular and having the longest wait for a garage.
Rents for garages vary and range between £4.00 and £12.00 per week depending on the area and size of the garage.
Non tenants may apply for garages and will be charged the same rent (as required by Law) but will be charged VAT on top.
If you are happy to be flexible with where your garage is located, it is possible that you may not have to wait as long as you would on specific areas.
Poole Housing Partnership tenants and Leaseholders have the first priority on an available garages.
