The first four weeks
Once you've found work, you won't be left without any money until payday.
If you were claiming JSA for 26 weeks prior to starting work, you can still get help with Housing costs for four weeks after starting work. This includes Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and Mortgage Interest payments.
You may also be eligible for a Job Grant which is a tax free lump sum.
Benefits you can claim whilst in employment
Depending on your income and other circumstances, you may still be eligible for some benefits whilst you are in employment.
Some of the benefits you may be able to claim include Working Tax Credit, Return to Work Credit, In Work Credit, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
