Budgeting
Do you feel that your finances are getting the better of you?
The best way of knowing exactly where your money is spent and to understand your spending habits is to keep and maintain a budget.
Use the Income sheet
Budget Income Form [11kb] (opens in a new window) to write down your income – only use income you can be sure is coming in. Then using the outgoings form
Budget Expenditure Form [13kb] (opens in a new window) to list your outgoings starting with you priority debts, rent or mortgage, council tax, utilities, car, food, clothes not forgetting the cost of leisure, birthdays and cigarettes. The completed forms will be able to identify if you are going into debt or if you are able to save money.
If you do not wish to complete the form please visit the FSA's Budget Calculator or if you are spending more than you are receiving it may be time to take a 'financial health check', see the links to the right of this page or telephone us on 01202 264484 to book a Finance Check with an advisor who can come to your home.
If you are experiencing money and debt problems and would like to sit down and talk it through in detail we can arrange for you to attend an appointment with a Money Advice Officer from the Citizens Advice Bureau. To arrange an appointment or for further information please contact the Income Team on 01202 264484.
