Board Members And Responsibilities
There are 15 members on the Poole Housing Partnership Board, consisting of 5 Councillors from all political parties, 5 tenants and leaseholders and 5 independent people with professional skills to help run the service.
The role of the Board includes:
- Scrutinising the effectiveness of Poole Housing Partnership
- Monitoring the performance of Poole Housing Partnership
- Drafting the constitution for Poole Housing Partnership
- Agreeing the Annual Delivery Plan with the Council
- Approving the budgets
- Agreeing policies and make decisions on financial matters
- Making sure that Poole Housing Partnership is run lawfully and ethically
It is the Board's job to ensure that Poole Housing Partnership runs independently from Poole Borough Council and in effective in delivering excellent services.
Bill Constance, Chairman
After his initial training and education in Mechanical Engineering Bill progressed into Commercial Management through various Sales and Marketing roles within a highly competitive manufacturing industry. His business career has included 20 years of achievement and experience at Board level within Multinational Companies. For 13 years and up to his retirement from full time employment Bill was a Board member of NSK Europe Limited.
Brian Jones, Vice-Chairman
Brian is a retired Business Installations Manager, and has been very involved in supporting and promoting the new ALMO and the Best Value Review. He is Vice Chair of the Housing Consultative Panel, as well as a Leaseholder Representative and brings a wide variety of skills to the Poole Housing Partnership Board. Brian is the founder member of the Poole & District Volleyball Association. He was born in Poole and has lived here all his life.
Anne Keogh
An experienced head of department for a multinational company, Anne brings with her a dynamic approach and a wealth of business and finance knowledge. Anne chairs the finance sub-committee.
Derek Johnson
Derek brings previous experience of an ALMO in which he was the Group Company Secretary/Personnel Manager of a transport operator, owned by Southampton City Council. With a background in both public and private sectors, Derek brings a wealth of experience in managing change and improving performance. Currently, he is employed as a Business Skills Adviser and Investors in People assessor. Derek chairs the Personnel sub-committee.
Chris Bulteel
Chris is a catering manager who has been a Councillor since 1995. He is the Chairman of the Community Support Overview Group and involved with many organisations including; the Housing Consultative Panel, the Friends of Poole Park and the Community Safety Forum, to name but a few. Chris wants to see Poole move forward into the 21st century whilst valuing our 750 year history. He places strong value on a integrated community that looks to the future prosperity of our Borough.
Jennie Vincent
Originally from Yorkshire, Jennie has lived in Poole for the majority of her life, and is passionate about Poole. She served in the Women's Land Army, where she met her husband, and was the Press Officer for the Poole Diabetic Association. Jennie welcomes and supports the new ALMO for Poole and is very committed to the work of the Poole Housing Partnership Board.
John Tyrell
John's early working years were spent as an apprentice tool and instrument maker in the atomic energy field. He has experience of sales team management and for the majority of his working life has been in a sales environment. Following his work in sales, John ran his own company, which he later sold and retired at the age of 63.
Mike Wilkins
Moved to Turlin Moor 34 years ago. A member of Turlin Moor Action Group, member of St Michael's Parochial Church Council and Board member of Poole Hospital.
Lindsay Wilson
Cllr Lindsay Wilson is a housewife, and mother of three. She was elected in Poole's Alderney 2004 by-election; voted in with a comfortable margin for the Liberal Democrats. In her spare time Cllr Wilson enjoys kick-boxing and weight training. Cllr Wilson took up her role as PHP Board Member on 6th June and attended her first Board Meeting on 7th June.
Sara Hobbs
Sara has been a Poole resident all of her life. Married with 2 children, Sara was the community representative for Bourne Valley prior to becoming a Board member. She is keen to provide facilities and activities for local residents and children. Sara feels that she understands and represents the community and wants to ensure that their voice is heard at the highest level within PHP.
Stephen Dunhill
Stephen has lived in Poole all his life and is a chartered surveyor with both private and public sector experience. He currently works at a senior level for a local housing association. He has experience of housing management, maintenance, supported housing, finance, and governance and is looking to further widen his experience. He was involved in establishing a housing association and more recently was a school governor at St Edwards School, assisting them with strategic planning and decision making processes.
Graham Wilson
Graham's career was in Engineering Management. He and his wife Sally have 3 children and 11 grandchildren. Graham is committed to continuously improving services to deliver best value.
Angeline Knott
Angie was elected to the Board by fellow residents in September 2007. Angie is keen to make Poole a better place to live with facilities to suit all ages. Angie, a nurse at a local hospital, has two children and wants to give something back to the community.
Amit Kotecha
Amit joined the board in January 2008 following a national recruitment campaign. Amit is a qualified solicitor and is International Legal Manager for a Southampton based multi-national company.
