Ending Your Tenancy

If so, you must provide Poole Housing Partnership with a minimum of 4 weeks notice in writing. This is a requirement under your tenancy terms and conditions.

If you are terminating your tenancy for yourself, or on behalf of a member of your family, please remember that you need to leave the property you are terminating in a clean and re-lettable condition in order to avoid any recharges for work that we have to carry out on your behalf.

The property must be clean and cleared of all possessions and rubbish, including the loft space, any outbuildings, sheds and the garden should be in a neat and tidy condition.

You will be requested to make an appointment for the Voids Officer to inspect your property when you have informed us of the ending tenancy.

Did you know that you could get a reward when ending your tenancy!!!

We offer a reward scheme in the form of Kingfisher Vouchers for leaving your property in an excellent clean and good decorative order. To qualify the property will have to meet the following standard:-

• The property including any outbuilding should be clear of all possessions and rubbish.
• All floors should be cleaned including skirting boards
• All doors and paintwork washed down including door furniture.
• Windows cleaned including window frames and cills (inside only)
• All kitchen units including inside and outside of doors, draws, worktops, and tiles.
• All bathroom fixtures should be cleaned including tiles.
• The garden should be in a neat and tidy condition.

If all of the above is carried out, upon the return of the keys the property will be inspected and if the standard is met vouchers will be awarded in the following categories:

1 bedroom property £75

2 bedroom property £125

3 or 4 bedroom property £150

If you are requesting the vouchers, please speak to a member of the Voids Team when you return the keys to Poole Housing Partnership, and we will be happy to arrange for the Voids Officer to inspect the property and issue you with the vouchers providing the above standard has been reached.
